Rate: £30–£40 per hour

We’re currently looking for an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join a busy Local Authority enforcement team in North London on an initial 3-month rolling contract, with the potential for ongoing work.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced housing enforcement professional looking for a hands-on role focused on inspections, housing standards and enforcement.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake Private Sector Housing inspections and investigations.
- Manage cases involving disrepair, housing standards and residential licensing.
- Prepare and serve statutory notices and take appropriate enforcement action.
- Prepare enforcement cases and provide evidence for court proceedings where required.
- Provide technical and legal advice to residents, landlords and stakeholders.
- Manage complex cases and work closely with internal and external partners.
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in Private Sector Housing enforcement.
- Good knowledge of housing legislation, HHSRS and residential licensing.
- Experience carrying out inspections and taking enforcement action.
- Strong communication and case management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
- Full driving licence and ability to travel for site visits.
Experience with prosecutions, court proceedings, complex enforcement cases or lead officer responsibilities would be highly advantageous.
