Overview
Stonehouse Recruitment is currently supporting a South London Local Authority seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to provide interim support within their Housing Enforcement team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating housing complaints, carrying out inspections and progressing enforcement action to improve standards across the Private Rented Sector.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out property inspections using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
Investigate housing complaints and disrepair cases
Manage enforcement cases within the Private Rented Sector
Serve statutory notices where appropriate
Support HMO and selective licensing compliance
Prepare case files for potential legal action
Work with landlords, tenants and partner agencies to ensure compliance
Requirements
Previous local authority Private Sector Housing experience
Experience carrying out HHSRS inspections
Knowledge of housing enforcement legislation
Experience managing enforcement cases
Strong communication and case management skills
