I am currently working with a Local Authority in North London who are looking to appoint a Private Sector Housing Officer.
About The Role
I am working with a Local Authority in North London to help them secure an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to support the team with enforcement and inspection work within the private rented sector.
The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating complaints relating to housing conditions, carrying out property inspections, and progressing enforcement action where necessary. The role will involve serving statutory notices, providing advice to landlords and tenants, and ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation.
This position is customer-facing and will involve representing the Council in sometimes challenging circumstances while maintaining a professional and solution-focused approach.
The role offers hybrid working, with a mixture of office-based duties and site visits across the borough.
Rates will start from £45 per hour, depending on experience.
About The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Private Sector Housing or Environmental Health team within a Local Authority.
A strong understanding of housing legislation, inspections and enforcement processes will be essential, along with the ability to manage cases independently and communicate effectively with residents, landlords and other stakeholders.
