Overview
Stonehouse Recruitment is currently supporting a South London Local Authority seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Manager to provide interim leadership within their Private Sector Housing team.
This role will focus on managing operational delivery across housing enforcement and licensing activity, ensuring the council continues to drive up standards across the Private Rented Sector.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and support the Private Sector Housing / Housing Enforcement team
Oversee licensing schemes including HMOs and Selective Licensing
Provide oversight on complex enforcement cases
Ensure compliance with housing legislation and council procedures
Manage performance, case progression and operational delivery
Work closely with internal departments and external partners
Provide strategic input into Private Sector Housing initiatives
Requirements
Significant local authority Private Sector Housing experience
Previous management or team leadership experience
Strong understanding of Housing Act legislation
Experience overseeing housing enforcement and licensing activity
Strong case management and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
