Principal Planning Officer - Development Management - East Midlands

A local authority in the East Midlands of England is looking for a Planning Consultant to join their team on an initial 6 month basis.

About The Role

A local authority is looking for a Principal Planner to assist with a caseload of applications.

The client is looking for a candidate to come in and hit the ground running to deal with a varied caseload of applications and assist in mentoring junior staff. Experience in dealing with applications that have a lot of heritage sensitivity is preferable as these cases can be contentious and difficult to pass so someone who is not afraid to push through is desireable. Experience with solar farm applications is also beneficial and sign off capabilities is a must.

The role will be split between the office and home working and the role would require a balance of the two.  

About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be chartered by RTPI, or an equivalent qualification and experience at a Principal level.
