Principal Planning Officer - South West

A local authority in the South West of England is looking for a Principal Planning Officer to join their team on an initial 6 month basis with a view to extend.

About The Role

A local authority is looking for a Principal Planning Officer to assist with major projects and mentoring junior planners within the team.

The client is looking for a candidate to come in and hit the ground running to deal with a caseload of majors as well as mentoring a group of Planning Officers within the Development Management team. They will be working with a team of planners with fantastic team culture and reporting directly to the Development Management Manager. There is some office presence required and the candidate may be required to have a driver’s licence to conduct site visits more easily.

The role will be split between the office and home working and the role would require a balance of the two.  

About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be chartered by RTPI, or an equivalent qualification and experience at a Principal or Managerial level or experience of managing a Planning team.
