Job Description

A Local Authority in the Midlands is looking for three Senior Contract Lawyers on a 3-month basis to start as soon as possible. You will be working for a council that thrives on developing and improving its services and ways of working. Furthermore, you will work remotely with very infrequent visits to the office when required.

The Role

The client is looking for a candidate to provide legal advice to members of the Council across the following areas: contracts and procurement, partnerships, charities and companies, commercial work, G Cloud contracts, JCT and NEC, and Inter Authority Agreements.

You will be expected to conduct and manage a varied caseload of complex legal work with a particular focus on contracts, procurement, and partnerships. Alongside, developing and implementing procedures for procurement policy and strategy.

Furthermore, you will also be advising and attending partnership and other interagency meetings and case conferences when required alongside the preparation of precedents and standard forms and the development and implementation of the Council’s corporate governance framework.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a wide breadth of knowledge within Contract law with additional experience in corporate governance, commercial, and company law.
