Senior Planning Enforcement Officer – South East

A local authority in the East Anglia is looking for an Senior Planning Enforcement Officer to join their team on an initial 6 month basis with a view to extend.

About The Role

A local authority is looking for an Enforcement Officer to assist with a shortage in their team.

The client is looking for a candidate to conduct the following:

Inspecting plans, carrying out site visits and assessing development proposals and possible breaches of planning control, including proactive monitoring.

Someone to take over Enforcement cases and effectively manage the process through its entirety. Responbsibility for investigating alleged breaches and unlawful development and taking formal action and issuing notices if required. Case load will mainly involve domestic and commercial cases.

Drafting reports and recommending whether applications are granted or refused and whether enforcement action should be taken for submission to planning committee or for decision by the Head of Development Management.

Keeping applicants, complainants, colleagues, councillors and others informed of the position of current cases and to share knowledge where necessary.

About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be chartered by RTPI, or an equivalent qualification and on their way to accreditation. 

The client is looking for someone with extensive experience, and can be responsible for the allocation of investigations for potential breaches, which included regular meetings and case overviews with officers.
