Major Projects Officer
A Local Authority in South-East England is looking for an experienced Major Projects Officer to join on an interim basis. This will be for a 6-month contract.
About The Role
You will act as a senior member of the planning team, taking responsibility for the management, assessment and negotiation of strategic, major and complex planning applications. Many of these cases may be subject to a Planning Performance Agreement, requiring involvement from the pre-application stage through to determination and delivery. The role will require confident handling of high-profile and technically complex schemes, ensuring that applications are progressed effectively, risks are managed, and outcomes are aligned with planning policy, corporate priorities and statutory requirements.
About The Candidate
You will need to demonstrate strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and provide clear professional judgement on complex planning matters. The role will require a proactive, solutions-focused approach, supporting the wider team in delivering high-quality planning outcomes within agreed timescales.
